The National Road Music Series is brought to you by Moonshine and Music and Dominos Pizza. Our goal is to bring ORIGINAL music artists to Hancock County and encourage a local culture of Music, Creativity and Entertainment. The last event of 2023 is a Country Folk explosion!

The Hammer and The Hatchet are John Bowyer and Jayme Hood. Songwriting partners, whose Americana originals and harmony rich bluegrass sound have earned a name as a folk roots duo on the rise. They released their latest album Shake Off The Cold in 2022 - their fourth album in eight years.

John Bowyer is a highly respected singer and multi-instrumentalist who has been writing and recording for over 20 years. Jayme Hood - his versatile songwriting soul mate, is also a carpenter, multimedia artist and a weaver. Hoosiers born and raised, based out of their cabin in the fabled hills of South Central Indiana.

Over the last decade, The Stampede String Band has earned a reputation for their hard-hitting acoustic performances, thoughtful lyrics, and powerhouse vocal harmonies. The Last Shall Be First is not just another decent Stampede album: it’s a hair-raising experience. Its ten tracks include eight new originals, a cover of former band member Scot Heminger’s track “Long Time” that originally appeared on an album by his band Dos Ringos, and a cover of Blind Willie Johnson’s soul-splitting spiritual, “Nobody’s Fault But Mine.”

Chris Wolf... Who's He? This ain't your run of the mill singer-songwriter. Drawing on his love of the ragtime guitar styles of the early country blues masters along withthe “thumb-picking” style of Merle Travis and Chet Atkins and the finger-picking style of LeoKottke and others, Chris has developed a unique guitar style and sound of his own. When it comes to his songwriting, he blames his early influences. The people that were the inspiration to get him to put a pen to paper in the first place. Folks like John Prine, Shel Silverstein, Guy Clark,Tom Waits, Roger Miller, Kris Kristofferson, The Beatles, Bob Schneider are just a few of the many artist's that prompted Wolf's inner songwriter to get out and be heard. And just as diverse as his influences are, so too, are the songs that he creates making it difficult to put a label on his style. It's just Chris Wolf Songs.

The HJ Ricks Centre for the Arts is a fantastic venue for this event and we will have Moonshine and Music cameras on hand to record the action for later release on the YouTube and podcast channels. Come be a big part of the show and excitement of LIVE ORIGINAL MUSIC!
