National Road Music Series 6 - Rural Soul Trio, Tay Bronson & The Tackle Box and High Water Troubadours

Joe Shelton will be hosting another National Road Music Series event at the beautiful HJ Ricks Center for the Arts in Greenfield, Indiana.

The National Road Music Series is brought to you by Moonshine and Music and Dominos Pizza. Our goal is to bring ORIGINAL music artists to Hancock County and encourage a local culture of Music, Creativity and Entertainment.

Rural Soul Trio features members of critically acclaimed bands "Sindacato" "Dog Talk" and "Bakersfield Bound' who together bring their combined hundred years of performing and recording back to the sounds of small town America to audiences in an Acoustic setting. Frank Dean leads this group with his amazing catalog of songwriting hits.

Tay Bronson and the Tackle Box is a full band presentation of the excellent country songwriting of Tay Bronson. Since 1991, Bronson has been active in perusing his musical aspirations. With Push Down & Turn—the alternative rock group that achieved national and international acclaim with Bronson as bassist and primary songwriter—Bronson got to live his dreams until the band decided to take their hiatus in 2003. During Bronson’s tenure with Push Down & Turn, his songs appeared on all four of the band’s albums and Demo EP in addition to compilation albums the band was featured on including major brands like Abercrombie and Fitch, Lidz and Kool Cigarettes. Their music was also featured on every major daytime soap opera, sans General Hospital, in the U.S. and abroad. Additional band highlights include a five-show stint on 1997's HORDE tour and opening for the Counting Crows, extended tour dates with the BoDeans, Freddy Jones Band and many others. They also shared the stage the following year with Oleander, Everclear and Kid Rock at X- fest 1999. After 2003 life soon made Bronson a father and his music and songwriting career took a backseat to his new role. Fatherhood and life since provided many inspirations and experiences to draw from.

In late 2016 as Bronson witnessed his father quickly lose his battle with Cancer he penned “Willard’s Song”. It’s an endearing sentiment about the desire for quality time between a father and son. It’s anchored to the simple theme of spending time on the lake fishing, something that is ever-present in Bronson’s life. After playing it at his father’s funeral he then realized what an amazing gift he has in songwriting and the healing power that songwriting has for him. In 2019, Bronson entered that song in The Rocky Mountain Songwriting Contest. He was a top finalist and was flown to Red Lodge, MT to perform at The Red Lodge Songwriters Festival.

When Drinks & Memories was released in 2020, Americana Highways debuted the video for “Key Over the Door” the first single from the album. “In a hot red 1961 Thunderbird, Tay Bronson sings a timeless song of love, loss and an abiding sense that nothing is ever really over.

This song is for all of us who’ve ended it but wanted to leave the door open a crack, just in case. Listen to the album all the way through and savor Tay Bronson’s appealing songsmanship.”

After the release of “Drinks & Memories” Bronson continued to find a way to play through a pandemic and has since shared the stage with a few national artists including Chris Trapper, Brian Dunne and Blessed Union of Souls.

In the fall of 2021 Bronson was invited to perform as a Rising Star at The Yellowstone Songwriters Festival in Cody, WY. There he got to perform on stage with hit songwriter Susan Gibson (“Wide Open Spaces”) and other amazing Rising Stars such as: Brooks Forsyth, Bo DePena, Kalyn Beasley, Dave Munsick and Jordan Smith.

Bronson is currently in the studio working on the follow up album “Bad Apple” that features songs he’s written with other amazing songwriters he met at the Rocky Mountain Festivals including Jackson Emmer, Chris Moyse and Eric Richard Stone. He hopes to have a finished album on the wire early 2023.

Highwater Troubadours are Jason Irwin of the Two Jasons and Elizabeth Duffy from the duo Sister Sinjin. They have come together to form a powerful duo of magical acoustic music.

The HJ Ricks Centre for the Arts is a fantastic venue for this event and we will have Moonshine and Music cameras on hand to record the action for later release on the YouTube and podcast channels. Come be a big part of the show and excitement of LIVE ORIGINAL MUSIC!
